  1. Chris, it's an excellent idea of getting the students creating blogs for their project. I could see that the students really did their research on their favourite person. So, what do the students do after they have posted the biography of the famous person of their choice? Will they discuss the reasons for choosing the particular personality? Can you share with us your further plan?

  2. Hi Chris!I think this was a wonderful project you set out for your students. I loved the fact that each group attempted to try something new and different with their own blogs such as adding in video clip, being creative with the fonts and colours and so forth. Looks like they had fun doing their blogs. Are you planning to use these blogs further for other topics as well as encourage a community to develop now that the space has been created?

  3. Thanks Hazita and Azizah. For now, not much of a plan. Mainly because I am swamped with work. Well, actually I have planned to get the girls to share the blogs with one another. Then I was going to give them a short quiz based on the blogs. They have to read one another's blogs in order to answer. My questions are ready but I have not had time to give to them yet. We just had March test and I have yet to finish marking. Sigh .... lots of work. English being the niche area for Sri Aman, gives us all in the panel tonnes of work. I will see what else I am going to ask them to do. Some girls actually asked if they could update those blogs and I am more than happy for them to do so!!!

  4. Chris,
It's good to know that the girls want to update their blogs. Encourage them to develop the blogs (adding more information, pictures, videoclips, puzzles etc.)

  5. Hi Chris, I wonder if the girls could take this project to the school level. Perhaps they could link this to the school's website? I empathize with you about work load. Sometimes it seems that there is just too many things to handle at the same time. It sounds like you have many capable students; have you tried getting them to create their own projects inline with the syllabus:--What would they like to do, what would they like to learn specifically and how they would like to do it? Anything to help unload your burden for preparation...:))

  6. Hazita,
Haven't had much time to think about linking things. My students have done up sites before, different groups. Can ask if they want to get it linked in the school website but I think that'll be too many links for the website.
Will try to think more about getting students to do things that will lighten the workload!!!! Thanks.
